Day Four - Guanacaste: Beach - Ciara Johnson

Today was a day of travel as we made our way from Arenal to Guanacaste. On the way, we saw a number of animals native to Costa Rica. We learned about different types of birds and the howler monkey. We also got to experience roadside shopping as we stopped at a little strip of vendors on the side of the road. We were able to purchase authentic Costa Rican merchandise made by the natives. I purchased a necklace made from volcanic rock!  Upon arrival in Guanacaste, we checked into our hotel and headed straight for the beach. It was unlike any beach I had ever been to! There were no waves to hinder our swimming and the sand was extremely soft under my feet. We spent the afternoon on the beach and were even able to witness sunset. It was a beautiful sight, but it was gone in the blink of an eye. We hardly had time to get a picture! Overall it was a great day!
