Day 3 Arenal: Kayaking, Zip Line, La Fortuna Waterfall & Organic Farm

Today was a day of relaxation. The plan was to go to Rincon De La Vieja National Park but they are closed on Mondays. The drive from Arenal was 4 hours to Guanacaste. During the trip, the tour guide gave very valuable information to the students. On the way, students were able to stop and get a good look at Costa Ricas White Hawk, along with the Tucan Bird. The students were also able to stop and get pictures of Howl Monkeys climbing from tree to tree near the road. During the drive it was amazing how the scenery changed from a tropical forest to a dry forest. It's amazing how the climates can change so drastically within a few hours distance. It went from completely green and flowers everywhere to everything being dry and brown. When the students got to the hotel, the plan ended up being going to the lagoon close to our hotel where the students got free time to enjoy themselves. There, the students got wristbands which gave them access to the hotels pool and drink services. It ended up being a very calm and relaxing night and was much enjoyed by everyone.  Monica Bettis '12
